Why subscribe?

Our mission at Fighting Stripes is to create a platform for Korean-Americans and those passionate about the Korean culture to talk about the things they love. Our Substack will be your opportunity to help build a media space for the Korean diaspora to share the stories that are important. Whether it's the latest updates on our favorite Korean footballers (huge nod to the OG Roy Ghim and taegukwarriors.com), the up-and-coming Korean athletes in sports, the newest KPop or KDrama trends, or personal stories about Korean society, culture, or politics, we want to create a place for those stories to be told in our voices.

Traditionally, the media landscape in North America has not covered these stories and Asian representation in media is still a work in progress. Fighting Stripes will be a place where writers, podcasters, and creators can share their stories with authenticity. It will be a platform to train young writers, discover new voices, and share stories that you won't find anywhere else in this media landscape. We want to build this media company with you, the incredible audience that has been supporting the original Tavern of the Taegeuk Warriors.
